ABOUT US

EMEA Training College Campus, the multi institutional complex represents an era of renaissance in the educational and socio-cultural dimensions of Malabar. EMEA Training College, the second institution in this prestigious campus, established in 2005 by Ernad Muslim Educational Association, is the self financing teacher training institution managed by Muslim minority in the state to promote the cause of education in Malabar to provide quality education to all classes of people, to attract and encourage talented students towards teaching profession, especially from among financially and educationally backward Muslim minority students and other marginalized sections of the society.

✋The emblem symbolizes knowledge, the world in abundance, the panoramic beauty of Kerala and values of life. On the top of the emblem is a verse from the Holy Qur’an which means “He taught man that which he knew not” (96:5).

The ocean represents life in its totality through which each person journeys, until he reaches his destination under the guidance of beacon light of EMEA. The coconut tree stands for the scenic ambience; the ideal location the campus provides to educational pursuits. Flanking the emblem is the full name of the organization that runs the institution.

EMEA college is recognized by NCTE, Government of Kerala and affiliated to the University of Calicut. The college is situated at Kumminiparamba in Kondotti, 6 KMs away from Calicut University, 2 KMs from Calicut International Airport, 18 KMs from Feroke Railway Station, and 32 KMs from Calicut City; with a congenial atmosphere for academic pursuits. The place is ideally suited for the growth and development of educational institutions for higher learning.

ACADEMIC

EMEA Training College offers the teacher training course Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) under the University of Calicut. The NCTE made the recommendation for beginning a two-year B.Ed. programme to prepare quality teachers as per Regulation 2014.

Accordingly, the two-year B.Ed. course aims at a complete development of the student-teacher; particularly in knowledge and skills, in individual care of the learner and also in methods and evaluation designed to facilitate learning.

The curriculum retains the essence of student-teachers being active participants in the learning process and prepares the student-teachers for facing the emerging challenges resulting out of globalization and its consequences.

ACTIVITY

👍TEACHING PRACTICE CUM INTERNSHIP

Practice teaching is a learning process that provides experience to student teachers for development of their teaching competence. In practice teaching, trainees will plan their lesson, and get feed back to improve their teaching competence as a result of guided experience. The duration of practice teaching shall be 40 days. The trainees have to deliver at least 30 lesson in two different standards. Trainees should develop lesson plans using innovative/learner centered teaching methods. At least three models of teaching lesson should present their lesson effectively. Try to observe as many lessons of your peers or senior teachers in your school. The practical training shall include observation of school practice and teaching practice. Teaching practice shall be under the supervision of a senior teacher in the subject concerned and under the general supervision of the head of the school. At least four lessons are practiced under the guidance of the teacher educator concerned who will visit the school.

👍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY/BOOK REVIEW

Trainees should participate in thought for the day programme every day followed by reflections and the book review conducted once in a week.

👍COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP

A three day/ four day community living camp is a compulsory curricular requirement for the B.Ed students.

👍FIELD TRIPS / TOURS

Field trips / tours is a compulsory curricular requirement. The college conducts various field trips and tours suiting educational requirements of various categories of students.

👍COMPETITIONS

The college conducts intra collegiate competition such as Debate, Elocution, Essay writing, Dance and music competitions annual sports competitions etc.

👍CELEBRATIONS

The college organizes and celebrates various occasions of social relevance. The include independence day. Republic day, Teachers day, World literacy day, World human right day, World environment day, Gandhi jayanthi, Onam, Eid, Christmas, New year etc.

👍SPORTS AND GAMES

Every student should take part in the college games either as participants or as sports meet official unless physically unfit and specially exempted by the principal. A sports committee shall be formed in order to advise and assist the working of the physical education department. The principal shall be the ex-officio president and the physical director, the general captain and house captain shall be the other members of the committee.

👍SOCIALLY USE FULL PRODUCTIVE WORK (SUPW)& COMMUNITY RELATED PROGRAMMES

It is compulsory curricular requirement for B.Ed programme in which the students have to prepare at least three socially useful items and participate in community related programmes.
